Thanks to the soccer community
When we launched West Suburban Soccer we weren’t sure what to expect from the soccer community. We started with the hope that 8 or 10 teams would sign on, and somehow we ended up with 25 teams willing to roll the dice on this new form of soccer coverage.
Our goal has simply been to give high school soccer players the recognition they deserve for their effort and commitment to the sport. From Lyons Township west to West Aurora, and from Barrington south to Neuqua Valley, we’ve been lucky enough to watch and report on some of the best high school soccer programs in Illinois.
With the season winding down, we just wanted to say thanks to the soccer community for embracing the coverage we’ve provided. The importance of the support and enthusiasm that parents, coaches, and players have put forth to make this site a success can’t be overstated. Without their help, this venture would have never gotten off the ground.
Thanks also to our writers, whose high-quality coverage has carried us throughout the year. When all is said and done we’ll have covered more than 200 soccer matches during the boys’ fall season, and that was only possible because of reporters Eddie Burns, Mike Garofola, Darryl Mellema, Matt Le Cren, Rusty Silber, and Paul LaTour.
In order for us to grow into the future and stay viable, we’ll soon begin soliciting potential advertisers for sponsorship, for the girls’ soccer season in the spring. If any of our readers have any suggestions or knows of any businesses that may be interested in advertising with us, please send an email to garyclarsen@comcast.net.
Thanks again to the entire soccer community. We’ll keep working to make the site better, towards providing the best possible soccer coverage.
